MOUNT HERMON FIRE RELIEF PARTNERSHIP

Update

We have a report back from Mount Hermon about how your donations of gift cards, water, and financial gifts are being used by Mount Hermon. There are also some great ways to keep helping out!

The Waters - Used to hydrate the volunteers who cleared debris around cabins and created defensible space (Its very important for fire survivors to be and feel safe)

The Gift Cards -
1.  They were given directly to families being housed for food and supplies.
2.  They were given to families who are reaching out to Mount Hermon for help. One family of eight had contaminated water (imagine cooking/bathing having to boil water for each use) The cards were used to help ease their financial stress.
3.  The remaining cards were given to a Christian teacher at Boulder Creek Elementary where thirty-five kids lost their homes. She was able to distribute to families that were in most need.

Financial Gift - From the benevolent offering in September, we were able to support the ongoing work of Mount Hermon, both in their ministry efforts and in caring for the community. Most appreciated since most of the staff are either furloughed or have been let go. They truly appreciate this effort!
Mount Hermon is committed to showing the community that they are there for them and that God cares about them in their distress and with physical needs. Four people this last week gave their hearts to Jesus! God is good and at work even and especially in difficulty.

So be encouraged! Your effort is helping!

Ways to Keep up the Effort

1.   Cabin Supplies Wish List! They have put together a wish list (similar to a registry) where you can buy things that will go directly into the cabins!
2.   Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities: They need people to help clear brush, build decks, repair items, install things…
