CityTeam’s House of Light is their Transitional Housing for women and children who have graduated from one of their programs. It is a second layer of support as women continue their journey toward full independence.

Melody Alvarado, CityTeam Program Director says, "This home is an answered prayer, as we have seen mothers struggle in the past with safe housing opportunities after graduation, but House of Light has become that safe place for many, including the six women and five children who currently live there."
 
When CityTeam acquired this property, it was in terrible shape and needed more work than was expected. In late 2019, the work was completed in the main house and the doors were opened to the first group of women. Then COVID hit, and the rest of the work got put on HOLD.  

Now is the time to tackle the next phases of the project and open more space to serve ladies coming out of our programs.
 
An ADU Unit has been proposed to offer increased housing, a play area for children, as well as a work out space.

The scope of work for the Primary Space:

• Update Electrical Panel

• Connect Water Supply & plumbing
• Patch & paint walls
• Replace flooring
• Update Kitchen
• Update bathroom
  
  

The scope of work for the Workout Space:

• Add Electrical Outlets equipped for treadmills & equipment
• Cover walls (Sheetrock, texture & Paint)
• Add flooring
  
  

The cost of this project is estimated between $25,000 and $30,000. A portion of the work, such as the plumbing and electrical, will need to be contracted out, but the CityTeam maintenance team will manage the rest of the project to help minimize the impact and cost.
